Dugong Beach Resort is seeking an experienced Chef and Partner with hospitality skills, to join their team.

Above award remuneration package will include live-in accommodation in a double air-conditioned en-suite in the Staff Village which is on-site. Meals will also be provided.

The Chef position will be remunerated on a full-time basis per level 5 of the HIGA Award; and their partner on a casual basis per the Award according to the type of work undertaken.

Dugong Beach Resort: Seeking a Qualified and Experienced Beautician for DAY SPA

Dugong Beach Resort is seeking a qualified and experienced (minimum 2 years) beautician for their DAY SPA, which overlooks the aqua waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Working for the Resort, you and the Day Spa hairdresser - who has an established local and hotel guest client base - will operate the Day Spa.

Therapist services would include the following:
* Body & Facial treatments
* Eyebrow shape, eyelash and eyebrow tint
* Application of make-up
* Manicure and pedicure
* Waxing
* Body Massage
* Cosmetic sales

The successful applicant must have a pleasant disposition; a mature and professional attitude to clients; and the enthusiasm to grow the business. Familiarity with Li’tya products would be an advantage. The position is remunerated on a casual pay basis per current HIGA rates and anticipated hours are approximately 38 hrs per week. In addition, single ensuite accommodation and meals will be provided, as well as use of Resort facilities.

GUEST SERVICE AGENT at METRO HOTEL TOWER MILL

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:

Responsible for the efficient, courteous and professional processing of customer enquiries and, where applicable, for maximizing revenue potential through exercising sales and cashiering skills to ensure the highest conversion rate is achieved at the best possible rate.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

The duties set out below are intended as a guide of the key functions for this position and any additional functions that may be required for such a position will be within the person’s range of skills and competence.

Service Quality and Product Knowledge

Ensuring all customer (including actual and potential guests, actual and potential suppliers and the general public) enquiries are handled in a polite, efficient, friendly and professional manner at all times;

Ensuring the highest yield is achieved at the best possible rate when processing booking transactions;

Ensuring the Hotel telephone system is answered professionally and in accordance with the prescribed guidelines. The telephone should be answered within 3 rings;

Ensuring that all reservation details, cashiering and amendments to guests’ details are loaded accurately into the Hotel booking system. This includes category, booking sources and channels for sales and marketing purposes;


Ensuring all group and FIT arrivals for the day are prepared, keys are available, breakfast vouchers distributed and any other group or FIT requests are organized;

Ensuring repeat guests are recognized and any special requests are met;

Possessing complete and current knowledge of Hotel products and services including room types, rates and packages for sale, operating hours, costs, etc

Hotel Operations and Transactions

Confirming accurate selling rates for the day as advised by the Reservations and/or Sales Department;

Monitoring Hotel occupancy availability and advise Duty Manager of any fluctuations on 100% occupancy expectations;

Ensuring all floats are counted and balanced;

Ensuring Hotel server and interface are running;

Logging any computer problems and reporting them to the Duty Manager;

Printing arrival reports and crosschecking for correct rates, dates, duplicates and VIP status;

Processing gift orders;

Attaching correct guest files to repeat guest reservations;

Processing all deposits for guaranteed reservations, No Shows, refunds amendments and cashiering as advised by the Duty Manager;

Maintaining, with the assistance of the Duty Manager where applicable, a systematic and accurate procedure for ensuring that rates are loaded into CMS and all web based reservations systems;

Ensuring all credit-related items are received from guests during check in and passed to the Duty Manager or as otherwise required;

Printing relevant reports after departure and at the end of shift from the Hotel CMS system

Profit Contribution

Exercising selling skills to optimize transient revenue by selling and up-selling Hotel products and services in accordance with current sales strategies;

Minimising costs for material equipment and stock purchases;

Forwarding all leads for group business and transient corporate accounts to the Sales and/or Marketing Department for follow up

General and Administration

Arriving at work on time and maintaining a neat, tidy and professional appearance;

Ensuring that filing is completed on a daily basis and files are archived on a monthly basis;

Ensuring all correspondence including e-mails, faxes and letters are responded to within 24 hours;

Developing a harmonious working relationship with all other departments within the property;

Reservations Manager for Metro Hotel Ipswich International.



The Metro Hotel Ipswich International is seeking a passionate, skilled and experienced Reservations Manager.

We are located in the centre of the CBD of Ipswich, opposite the Ipswich City Council offices.

Our hotel has 97 rooms, award winning Restaurant and Lounge Bar, 24 Hour Room Service and Reception and extensive Function Facilities.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, your duties and responsibilities will involve but are not limited to:

Managing hotel room inventory to ensure Metro Hotel Ipswich International maximizes opportunities to provide

lodging to all clients and to achieve maximum revenue for the hotel through clever yield management.

Constantly updating distribution channels for room rates and availability.

Using computer software specific to reservations such as Property Management Systems (PMS).

Managing general inventory, room blocks and individual reservations achieving maximum revenue.

Enforcing no-show and cancellation charges and policies.

Developing strategies for using Internet Distribution Channels.

Ensuring accuracy of price quotes.

Generating emails or letters confirming guest reservations.

Assisting the Front Office manager in creating a service oriented team that provides guests of the Metro Hotel Ipswich International

with a clean, well maintained and comfortable environment.

Creating and maintaining rate codes.

Working with annual departmental budgets.

Communicating with groups and/or travel agents regarding special requests

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

Database management knowledge.

Organization and time management skills.

Computer literacy and business minded.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Supervisory skills a must.

Be a team player.

Willing to go above and beyond for our hotel guests and team members.

Education and Experience:

Graduate from an accredited college or university in an appropriate curriculum and considerable experience
